From the South: Empanadas ~ Empəˈnädəs

Empanadas are pastry turnover filled with a variety of savory or sweet ingredients. Their origins trace to Galicia and Portugal. They were carried to Brazil and Indonesia by Portuguese colonists and to Latin America and the Philippines by Spanish colonists where they remain very popular. ​While preparation and spices may vary; pork, beef, chicken and vegetables are the most common fillings for empanadas in Latin America and the Philippines as well as in Indonesia. Casa Segovia-Paz offers a selection of baked empanadas filled with a variety of vegetarian, meat, and even sweets fillings! Wouldn’t you like to taste our "V-Chorizo Breakfast", "Beef Empanada", "Spicy Chicken Empanada" or perhaps one sweet Empanada filled with our seasonal fruit preserves? Rest assured you will love them!​

From the Center: Pupusas ~ Pu'pusas

Very well know all over Central America. This thick handmade corn tortilla using maize flour dough is usually filled with a blend of cheeses, meats, refried beans and often "Loroco", which is a delicious edible flower indigenous to Central America. ​ Just pick your fillings (refried bean/cheese, lentils/cheese, Beef/cheese, cheese/loroco, V-chorizo/cheese) and enjoy them!

Tamales: Our delicious and traditional Mesoamerican tamales are made with corn masa, filled with your choice of V-chorizo, lentils, beef, chicken, jalapenos rajas, all wrapped and steamed in a corn husk.

Alfajores ~ Alfa-Hoar-rays

Described as "oh, it melts in your mouth", our Pick TN product CASA Segovia-Paz's alfajor is a traditional cookie consisting of milky caramel (dulce de leche) sandwiched between two delicate shortbread rounds with light snow coating on top. Alfajores is a traditional confection found in some regions of Spain and in parts of Latin America, including Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Southern Brazil, Mexico and the Philippines. Try these sweets and you will get addicted to be taken to heaven!
